Pierre Ohniguian was born sixty years ago in north of France. He has Armenian origins. He quite early joins the french art academy (Beaux-Arts) and quickly turns to sculpture but he experiences difficulties to give complete expression to his aspirations.
He then discovers architecture, that gives him the opportunity to occupy space.
That's how his vocation to built life-spaces arises, as a symbiosis between sculpture and building.
He becomes an architect and enters in a world that is not always consistent with his personal commitment. He has to do too much concession regarding his humanist approach.
Creating only survival spaces doesn't suit him, which makes him distance himself from architecture.
However, Pierre Ohniguian has never stopped painting.
During his trips, he discovers ceramics. He decides to live on artistic activity, mixing painting and ceramics. His way is now clear.
His peregrinations bring him to Auvergne, where he continues his career as a painter and ceramist. |
